The shipyard “Kockums“ was once one of the city’s largest employers – today only small bits still remain. Large parts of the vast areas have been taken over by other activities. The old dock ramp, for instance, has now been partly rebuilt into a famous outdoor skate park - ”Stapelbäddsparken”.

Today this river and many other are tamed and silent. The only sound are from the turbines at the powerstations.
